At this time, you do not qualify for the course because we do not see evidence of an active on-the-air presence on your part. We require team members to be active on the air so they can put into practice and implement the skills learned in the course as well as see that applicants are moving past the initial key fright with which many new ops struggle. We like to see ops having 10-15 QSOs a week at least. Those QSOs may be SST, POTA, SOTA, SKCC, etc. We have found that those who are not active on the air BEFORE a class will struggle during the class.

Two on-the-air activities you might consider are POTA hunting and being active in the Straight Key Century Club (if you use a mechanical key). POTA has an easy exchange of information (RST and state) and there are activators on the bands every day. If you are using a mechanical key, SKCC has over 28,000 members and events every month in which to participate.

When you are active on the air with CW (at least 10-15 QSOs per week), please feel free to re-apply.
